Johnny Layton’s debut signature shoe was begging for a mid-version. Mid-cut shoes first became popular in the late ’70s when skaters adopted basketball shoes for increased ankle support. Since Johnny’s shoe was created with 1970’s influences, the mid version was a natural fit for the J-Lay. The shoe is still built around BoardFeel OG technology, providing classic waffle grip with improved cushioning. We addressed the basics, rolled the tie-dyes over to the mid, and also threw in some color pop. |
