What’s been the best trip you’ve ever been on?
Miami, 2000. We were partying and skating our balls off. With Freddy [Gall]. It was an epic trip on all levels. I don’t know how you can get that many tricks and eat acid and snort cocaine all night and still get that much shit done.

What is the best story you’ve ever heard?
Dill told it to me and it was told to him by Jack Osborne. Ozzy was walking down the street in Chicago or some shit in the middle of winter, on tour, and there was a guy sleeping in a phone booth and he had a Black Sabbath shirt on. Ozzy knocked on the phone booth and woke the guy up. The guy totally freaked out. And Ozzy gave him a job filling up all the pails of water and bringing them up onto the stage. And supposedly he has the job to this day. That’s pretty sick.

Favorite Vans rider?
Everybody.

What trick can’t you do that you wish you could?
Kickflip. I’m serious.

What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?
Nothing really. Everything bad that’s happened to me ends up being something good.

What are some interests/hobbies outside of skating?
Surfing and that’s about it. I’m pretty boring.

Last good book you read?
I don’t even really read. I guess the last book I read half of was The Power of Now. It’s on Oprah’s book club so I had to read it.

How long did you live in Russia for?
Six months. It was pretty depressing. At the time it was 1995 and still really Russian and commie. I was 17 at the time. The whole reason I was sent there was my step-dad was there a nd I dropped out of school and wasn’t doing anything and he’s an ex-Marine and he’s like, “Send him to me!” it was like boot camp for me.

Did it straighten your ass out?
It worked for a little while. Then it wore off again I started abusing life.

Do you ever miss Russia?
No, I never miss it there. Maybe I wish sometimes I missed the experiences I had there because when I came back I didn’t things for granted at all because I just ate eggs and bread for six months.

Are you still a big Ted Nugent fan?
Always. I saw him play a couple months ago. And he sucked. He was alright but he’s like George Bush with a ponytail; it gets a little rough. I like 70s Nugent.

If we could set up a hunting trip for you and Geoff and The Nuge would you go?
Totally.

Would you be scared The Nuge would shoot you?
That would be cool if he did, it’d be a good story.

Alien Workshop’s new DVD, Mind Field, is set to release in February 2009, how do you feel about your part?
I feel pretty good about it. I’m stoked. I hope people like it.

Whose part is going to blow doors off?
I think there’s gonna be a lot of ‘em. Heath, of course. There’s a lot of dudes that are surprising and a lot of dudes people don’t know about.

What’s the secret to keep slick hair slick? Pomade or 50W motor oil?
Just don’t wash it. Cold weather helps too. You wet it down and if it’s cold out it stays.
