What’s been the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?
Trans Siberian railroad. Month long train trip across Russia and Asia, too much to blog about. Best trip ever. It’s just the last place I ever thought a skateboard would get me.
What is the best story you’ve ever heard or been told?
My friend Quinn was driving his boss’ jeep down a windy road after a hard night of dish washing, they had a couple road pops at this point. The light switch was on the floor of the old jeep and Quinn accidentally turned them off, his boss was trying to help get them on and they just sailed off a small bank, ended up upside down in a drive way with mariachi music blasting out of the speakers, wheels spinning, un-scathed. They cracked a bottle of tequila and took it all in. He’s flipped two cars in his life which I find amazing. Quinn Starr rules.
Favorite Vans rider?
Just skated with Andrew Allen the other day and he can skate switch as well as regular.
What trick can’t you do that you wish you could?
360 kickflip, I call them my nemesis, I wish I had a good one cause they look so good when people do them well. Sometimes I just don’t think I was meant to do them. Other than that a 10-foot high rocket air must feel nice.
What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?
So far I have been able to look back at times that were killing me and laugh at myself. Getting busted for some bullshit by the man always sucks.
Worst trend in skateboarding right now?
They come and go like a bad fart, everyone secretly takes a wiff. f**k I don’t know, man. Maybe me talking?
What are some interests outside of skating?
Camping, swimming, just being in the wilds, I really like cities or complete wilderness, no suburbs. Motorcycles are also one of the best things in the world.
Getting drunk and staying sober.
Last good book you read and why?
October Country by Ray Bradbury because his imagination is so abstract. I like it cause I could never come up with that shit, dog. And Cannery Row by Stienbeck, It’s about the ultimate dirtbags.

All I did was an oil change, I rebuilt a motor that still makes noise, last thing I did was unload one from a Uhual……first try.

Is it true you used to be a male model?
The technical term is “Meat prop” or “airbag.” I love doing portrait ads and downhill skiing nose first.
Tell us about your figure skating background?
Somehow I just stayed in ice skating lessons, which becomes figure skating lessons, I had a mullet, acid washed jeans and sometimes Motley Crue shirt during practice, also one ear was pierced while wearing the skates. I could do and still have an amazing “shoot the duck”. I am also now the most unmarketable Canadian skateboarder.
What’s the figure skating equivalent to a tre flip?
Triple f**kin’ axle, though I hear quads are the norm for competition these days. I missed my window and must now get my old job back at the restaurant.
When it comes to Zero graphics are you more partial towards blood, skulls or skulls and blood?
Its’ strange you ask me NOW, cause I just set up a board, the first in a long time that has skull and blood on it. I would have to say that more than being partial to skulls and blood or blood and skulls I have become partial to FREE boards.
