Vans Video Update from China Part 5: Guangzhou Dreamin'
Posted Nov. 18, 2011, 12:15 p.m. /
Welcome back to the 5th part of The Vans Team's Adventures in China.
Here's Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4 if you missed them.
Ace photographer Anthony Acosta along with Anthony Van Engelen, Andrew Allen, Chris Pfanner,
Chima Ferguson and Gilbert Crockett are on a filming mission with Greg Hunt in Hong Kong
for the upcoming Vans video.
Today Anthony sends photos from their last day in Guangzhou. This place was good to the guys.
They skated all day and the skate gods blessed them with many clips. One can only dream of what manner of
fantastical maneuvers they gathered on this foreign soil. You ever sit in class and stare right through your teacher and
envision yourself doing wonderful tricks you'll never land in faraway places you'll never see? I think we all have.
I wonder if guys like Gilbert Crockett and the rest of the travelers still do that? Do they stare at the walls back in Richmond
or Germany or LA or wherever and imagine the tricks they're going to film for their part? It's nice to think they still have
that childish wonderment, the only difference being they can make their daydreams come true.
It's also really fun to think about a pack of pegasus playing poker with pigs in Petaluma, right?
"Oh, the thinks you can think if only you try."
After the skating and day dreaming the guys got on a three hour flight to Chengdu (home of the panda bear) for a demo/signing,
then straight back to the airport again to fly to Shanghai.
Balling.
Wish you were here.
