Tony Alva Pendant Benefits Music Cares

Recently the Godfather of Awesome, Tony Alva, was honored at the 9th Annual MusiCares Map Fund and in the eternal spirit of giving back TA has teamed up with Penny Royal Studio to create a special, sterling silver "Alva" Skateboard Pendant has been handcrafted to resemble the original 1977 Alva Skates skateboard deck (as seen above). Proceeds from sales benefit MusiCares' Map Fund providing financial and supportive assistance for music people in need of addiction recovery services.

As one of the main catalysts for skateboarding’s second wave via the Z-Boys and Dogtown in the ’70s, Tony Alva introduced charisma, attitude, and superstardom to professional skateboarding, right alongside being credited with the first vertical airs in “action sports.” He was also one of the firsts to own his own company. Deservedly, number 8 on Transworld Skateboarding's list of The 30 Most Influential Skaters Of All Time.
