In Geoff's words: "The 'Style 99's' was a design idea I had been thinking over for at least the last few years: how to design a simple, yet very unique, pattern that would be both timeless and modern. All Vans footwear that has stood the test of time had these two elements. I would say it has been in the works since the moment I rode for Vans in early 1999, hence the name."
