ANDREW ALLEN INTERVIEW...
What shoe do you skate?
The Old Skool or AV SK8-LO.
What’s your set up?
Anti-Hero 8.06 x 32 deck, 53mm Spitfire Classics, Indy 139s, Swiss bearings.
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on?
Israel. We had a good crew and our tour guide, Avi, gave us the royal treatment with skate spots, sight seeing and nightlife.
What is the best story you’ve ever heard or been told?
Read any Jeff Grosso interview. Those are pretty moving.
Favorite Vans rider?
Nathan Fletcher. Dude rips at surfing.
What trick can’t you do that you wish you could?
Regular 360 flips.
What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?
I try to take the bad with the good.
What are some interests outside of skating?
Beach life is awesome in the summertime.
Last good book you read?
Freaky Dancin’. It's a biography of Bez from the band Happy Mondays. It's fascinating to read about how insane the dude's life has been.
Five songs that have to be on a mix tape?
The Scarface soundtrack sums it up.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I have no idea.
Five essentials for any Anti-Hero road trip?
Skateboard, sleeping bag, knife, fresh socks, lighter.
Any useful camping lessons to share with the kids?
Watch footage of Frank Gerwer to learn how to stoke a fire.
I know you’re getting more into food these days, who is your favorite chef?
I don’t really have one, but my brother-in-law cooked Thanksgiving the other day and it was super good, so I’ll give it to him.
If you were going to the electric chair, what would your last meal consist of?
A steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a Stella.
